Five Parsecs From Home Crew #3 - Assassin

When I was planning my Five Parsecs crew I was thinking along the lines of a group of Inquisitorial operatives, so an assassin was an obvious inclusion. I'm fond of the diminutive female assassin from the RT adventurers range, so it was a good opportunity to paint her up.

Mantab Raksha, Human Assassin

Five Parsecs from Home profile:
Crew type: human; Background: war-torn hellhole; Motivation: truth; Class: special agent
Confession time - I did select Raksha's class to make it fit with the model better. But I honestly did roll up the stealth gear that I gleefully equipped her with!

Stargrave type:
Striker

I went for the classic assassin-black garb for Raksha, livened up with a little bit of teal on her pouches and exotic wrist-mounted execution tech.

Spin-off Project: Clade Adamus Assassin
OK, I know this guy isn't really a Clade Adamus assassin, as such things didn't exist when he was produced, but the forthcoming Forgeworld miniature is clearly a modern reworking.

Still an absolute stone-cold classic miniature!

Clade Adamus Assassin, coming soon from Forgeworld.

I enjoyed painting the black on the RT assassin - the Goodwin sculpt has lots of nice detailing such as armour plates which really help define the shape.

I kept everything very muted so he can perform his assigned tasks effectively!

Painting this guy was fun, not only because he's topical, but also because it means I've painted all three of the RT assassins:

All 3 RT assassins - which is your favourite?

  1. More great figures! Really like the highlighting you did on the blacks. I always find it difficult not to over-do it. Yours looks perfect!

    1. Thanks Hobbs. I prefer a softer highlight on my blacks, so don't tend to push it too far. Going over the highlights with a Nuln Oil wash helps smooth out the transitions and knock it all back too.

  2. Fab black-clads! Clade Adamus get's my vote for best looking though.

  3. Excellent work on all these Imperial Assassins! I really liked the Jes one so I re-ordered him to do a more up-to-date paint scheme. What are the statues in the second vignette?

    1. The Jes assassin is an absolute classic. Such a lovely figure! The statues are/we're from Rackham. You can see some pics here: http://magpieandoldlead.blogspot.com/2017/03/the-monastery-of-benevolent-listeners.html
