The Word Spreads - Muller Cult Reinforcements

Here are a few extra cultists for my Muller Cult. I needed this trio to round out my 10-strong Cult crew for a game of Stargrave I'll be playing at Bring Out Your Lead 2025 in a couple of weeks time.

Ever-more corrupt cult followers emerge, showing degenerate attributes and mishapen forms.

This trio has been built specifically to cover off some Stargrave troop types: sniper/pathfinder; casecracker; and hacker.

Sniper/pathfinder: this guy follows exactly the same design as the 'enlightened' cultist I made a few months back - a Gorkamorka mutie torso with a cultist legs. I didn't take any WIP pics, but there was minimal sculpting beyond gap filling!

Casecracker: in Stargrave a Casecracker has abilities to open physical loot counters, as well as sporting a carbine. I converted a cultist by adding some modern plastic cultist bits. The ammo crate can easily double as a toolbox containing drills, cutters and the like!

The plastic cultist components were a great fit and only needed some minimal sculpting to blend the joins.

Hacker: a Stargrave hacker is equipped with a deck (dataslate in 40k terminology). I decided to go for something a little less conventional than just a cultist with a scanner or auspex, and selected one of Paul's more grotesque sculpts - the Heresy Miniatures ghoul hag.

This is the remastered version with straggly hair:

I discarded the baby (a separate component) and replaced the hands. The right hand is from a Necromunda Delaque kit; the left is from a 40k Drukhari pilot. The holstered pistol is from a Stargrave plastic kit.

I later further modified the deck with a bit of greenstuff before painting.

I think the pose has come up really nicely, and there's nothing to say that ghoulish degenerates aren't capable of using advanced tech!!

Happy to have these three added to the cult, and looking forward to getting them onto the tabletop.

  1. O mate, these three are some inspired creations! Especially a big fan of that Hacker - super fun alternative idea on that archetype. Awesome stuff.

  2. Outstanding! The hacker is a very ingenious take - reading the post and seeing you select the ghoul hag, my first thought was "servitor-baby that she plugs into computers?" I think I like your conversion a bit more than that gruesome idea though!

    1. Thanks Bill! A servitor-baby - now there's a thing! What a grim concept that is. Maybe one for a future 🤔
