All hail the Scavvy King (no, not that one)!

Back with the Sinkhole Boggarts, my Marauder-themed scavvy gang. This time I've finished off their leader, who I'm currently calling Ned Crundle (TBC). I probably spent far too long thinking about this figure, but ultimately I'm happy that he fits nicely with the Marauder aesthetic.

The stinking Sinkhole Boggarts, led by Ned Crundle with his unstable plasma pistol

The figure started out life this Marauder dark elf, selected for the pose and clothing structure:

I replaced the weapons and head, and pretty much reskinned the entire figure with ragged coats and a host of new details. The shoulder pads were very close in shape to one of the original Marauder scavvies, so I decided to keep those as is, along with the fancy belt with all the skulls.

The head is a Milliput copy from the original Heinrich Kemmler model. I cut down the wizard hat point and trimmed the decoration from the front to give me a ragged floppy hat more fitting for a scavvy.

The plasma pistol is from a random sprue of weapons I had in my bits box. The club (I liked the contrast of vey low tech v high tech weapons) was also from my bits box - I think it was originally on a half-orc, but it could easily have been on a beastman or chaos thug.

I spent quite a disproportionate amount of time trying to work out a back banner or totem pole for this guy. After numerous attempts, everything I tried was either too big, too small or the wrong shape. So I gave up and added a backpack instead!

There was a temptation to ramp up the colours on this guy to reflect his 'status', but I kept the scheme close to the other gang members. I did go for a slightly more exotic pattern on his waist-cloth though.

I think the resulting figure looks very scavvy-like and not very much like a dark elf, so I see that as a win!

There's still a couple of Marauder scavvies to come, but after that I can make a start on Jes Goodwin's Citadel scavvy sculpts.
