Shadow War: Armageddon - New Recruits

With just over a week to go to the start of a new Shadow War: Armageddon campaign, it's high time I got the remaining figures painted up. Over the last week I've painted an additional 3 Guardsmen, bringing my total to 8. I need to paint one more (the flamer) to have my starting Kill Team ready, and I plan a 10th member shortly afterwards.

Kill Team Alpha-Curzon deploy from their insertion point.

You'll probably recall the WIP figures from a few weeks ago. The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that the shotgunner has a new head. I was never particularly satisfied with the helmeted and visored head I originally used, so I replaced it with a grizzled bearded head from an old Rogue Trader Space Pirate.

I've summarised the parts used on the figures below:
  • Plasma gunner - Confrontation Tech Ganger body, Forgeworld Death Korps of Kreig arms/weapon, 1990s Perry Cadian head.
  • Autogun - Rogue Trader Imperial Guard body, Forgeworld Chaos Renegade vehicle crew arms, 1990s Perry Valhallan head.
  • Shotgun - Rogue Trader Imperial Guard body, Space Pirate head (minus topknot), Victoria Miniatures arms, Necromunda shotgun.

All 3 figures are painted in pretty much the same way - quick and pretty loose, to match the original Guard I part repainted. The fatigues were first painted a light grey, then overpainted with a watered down camo colour, before washing with camo and brown washes. The leather parts (boots, webbing) were painted tan or brown, before receiving a brown wash. The armour is painted black with the edges and raised areas drybrushed with metallics.

I really like the resulting figures - each is clearly a hardened fighter with his own customised kit. Just the sort needed to put down the ork menace (or indeed Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Necrons or whatever else they encounter!).

    1. He had the topknot until late on, then I decided it looked a bit too fanciful. A big, bald, bearded bloke seemed more appropriate!

    3. A ratling gang? Funny you say that - someone mentioned a ratling Ordo Malleus Inquisitor the other day and it got me thinking!
