A pair of officials waited nervously in the disembarkation hall. They ignored the pilgrims, merchants and leisure travellers. They were here to greet a more distinguished visitor. The diplomatic talks with the xenos emissary, Barcoon Krobosh, would profoundly impact on the future prosperity of the Colony.
Newly off the painting table are a trio of aliens which have probably evolved from amphibious ancestors. First up is Barcoon Krobosh, the Amphiran Emissary from Colony 87 miniatures. This wonderful high-ranking alien was sculpted by Michael Anderson and is bedecked with ornaments of office.
I painted Barcoon Krobosh using two reference points. The first is my original Slann which I painted over 10 years ago. I always liked the deep red skin with blue, white and gold.

The second reference was the painting of my good friend Asslessman. You may recall that when he painted his version of Barcoon Krobosh, he used my Slann Blood Bowl team for colour inspiration. In turn, I've selected some of Asslessmans favoured colours (cream, dark blue and a lovely pale grey-blue) for the colours in my interpretation of the same figure.
No alien emissary would be seen dead without some sort of entourage, so I pulled out a pair of my unpainted Space Slann to accompany him. I selected Sschoi and Llamas as to me they look most like bodyguards or footsoldiers.
Both figures got a colour scheme to match their master's, with the addition of exotic fur pelts over the shoulders.
I think they look pretty good as a group, even though I'm not happy with the way they've photographed. I certainly plan on expanding the delegation over the next few weeks.
