After several months of painting Bob Olley figures, I wanted a bit of a break, so decided to get back on with the Confrontation scavvies. I've now just got the Citadel figures to do. These were sculpted by Jes Goodwin, with three seeing general release and a further seven being unreleased.
First up are the three released sculpted. These were available as armless metal torsos that you could complete with either the ganger or Imperial Guard plastic arms and weapons. I decided to use some more modern arms and sculpt ragged sleeves over the top to integrate them:
I kept the same colour scheme as I'd used on the earlier Marauder scavvies so I can use them all together if I need to. I really like pairing the dull dusty brown with colour pops and patterns.
| The scavvy with the long rifle is my favourite - I've always loved the pose and that sinister rebreather mask. |

Very nicely done. The conversions and paint jobs are spot on. I remember buying a blister with multiples of the rebreather scavvy plus bratt figures as a high school student way back in 1989. They're long gone now, sadly.
ReplyDeleteBill.
I'd forgotten about those blisters - always seemed odd to have scavvies and bratts in the same pack, as well as having all the duplicates. Thanks Bill!
DeleteLove these mate. They'll fit in just fine with your other Scavvies I think. I really need to get better and more confident with my greenstuffing. Your additions to all your models look so seemless.
ReplyDeleteThose Jes Goodwin Scavvies are my favs of the Confrontation range. I still own one, painted yonks ago for a Nurgle Inquisimunda warband... Probably needs updating.
Thanks very much Dai! These sleeves are really simple - just basic shapes with creases put into them with clay shaper, then rips and tears added with a metal sculpting tool.
DeleteI agree - the scavvies are amongst to best that Confrontation has to offer!
Those Stargrave/Frostgrave parts really are ubiquitous!
ReplyDeleteThey're super-useful, would highly recommend!!
DeleteA sweet job as usual, I enjoy the way you make them look
ReplyDeleteThanks Suber! Always happy if you're happy 🙂
DeleteGreat stuff, as always I'm very jealous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chico!
DeleteAlways thought your marauder scavvies were brilliant, so it's very good to see you move on to my absolute favourite miniatures from Necromunda/confrontation. Having spent painstaking hours fitting arms to some of mine, it's a strange combination of frustrating and gratifying to see you making a better job of it. Mind you, there's probably something about doing 50 of something versus doing ten that lets me off the hook a bit there.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how many people are fond of these figures - you're not the first to say they're your favourites! Glad you think I managed the arm issue OK 🙂
DeleteGreat work there, especially on those sculpted sleeves. The Confrontation models are really nice: lots of good detail. I really must paint my techs. I used some Stargrave arms for genestealer hybrids recently and they fitted the size and scale really nicely.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love those techs too. The Stargrave kits are such a great source of bits for these figs aren't they,!
DeleteYeah, still love that yellow and blue paint scheme !
ReplyDeleteYour kitbash is great.
Thanks! I think the colours stop these from being too dingy.
