L'ng Tchun Xlvr - Space Slann Pirate (Lead & Steel Event Mini)

I was delighted to receive a preview copy of the Lead & Steel 2025 event miniature recently from organiser Mat Lindsay (Indelible Ink Studio). The figure is L'ng Tchun Xlvr, Space Slann Pirate. The figure was sculpted by Aidan at Warfactory and cast in resin by Ramshackle Games.

I painted the good pirate captain in my usual Slann palette. I think the gold collar really looks great framing the head. With all the gold on the collar and weapons, I decided to paint some of the other elements as jade, including the toes on the bionic leg and mechanical 'parrot'. Aidan has packed the sculpt with traditional piratical details with a 40k/Slann twist - my favourite element is the delicately-designed eyepatch which nods to some of the details seen on original Rogue Trader Slann.

The cast from Ramshackle was nice and clean and needed minimal prep. It also has a neat addition of a little scenic element included as part of the casting vents.

I decided I'd paint the scenic piece up at the same time. And what do pirates want most? Giant gold blocks of course!
