Ramshackle Crates

A few weeks ago I had a game with Curtis from Ramshackle Games. "Would you like some test casts of some crates I've made?" he said.

The answer, was of course, yes!

So what did Curtis give me? A selection of lovely new resin crates in three varieties - space spice crates, mining stillages and ammo boxes.

Unpainted crates
After prepping and undercoating, I painted them up. The space spice crates and stillages in rusted metal, while the ammo boxes got some more colours.

Grey rock (probably containing valuable mineral) in the mining stillages. Chalked on numbers for a bit of interest.

The space spice crates with merchant markings. This purple space spice is also known as royal spice and commands a premium on the lower grade white variety.

Ammo crates containing a range of munitions. Often acquired from underhand military staff looking to make a quick buck.

The whole selection.

Loading space spice onto a smaller courier vessel.

Hopefully these will go on general sale in due course. I suggest you grab some when they're available!

  1. I like a good crate, the spice crates are a nice idea, better than just having loads of closed or ammo crates.

    1. Sometimes I think I have enough crates, but I think more is always better :)

  3. Oh, those came out fantastic. I should really dig through the blog and see if you've done a how-to on rusty worn stuff. Have you done a how-to on rusty worn stuff? ;-)

    1. I don't think I've done a proper tutorial, although I've probably mentioned stuff in passing. I'll try and get round to a 'how to'.
