Born To Be Wild - a Logan's World Outrider

Next up for my Logan's World Maniax is a bike-riding Outrider. In the Ash Wastes rules, Outriders are scouts for a Journeyman gang, so I wanted my Outriders to be mounted on rugged, well-equipped bikes. The first of my Outriders fits the bill - mounted on a heavy bike, laden down with plenty of gear!

The bike itself is a combination of a Rogue Trader Space Marine / Imperial Guard bike, with the front forks from an Ork warbike. The baggage on the back is from a Necromunda Heavy.

WIP Outriders.

The rider is made from the legs of an Imperial Guard bike rider, and the torso cut from a RT Titan Crewman. The gun arm is from Victoria Miniatures, and the right arm is a modern plastic piece from one of the current GW kits.

I went for pretty much the same approach to painting as for the dune buggy from a few weeks ago. The rider himself got the same black, white, blue and neutral brown colour scheme I've used on the rest of the gang to date.

I'm pretty happy with the newest addition - I can't wait to paint his Outrider buddy now!

  1. Despite the high level competition, this project of yours is one of my favourite.
    Perfect really.

    1. Something about beaten-up vehicles and punks? It's a nice vein to tap into :)

  2. I thought that bike looked a little familiar, a great conversion there Axiom :)

I'm liking your "rugged" paint jobs on these vehicles too!

    1. Glad you like it. Funnily enough, the rugged paint jobs are quick and easy...I used to hate painting vehicles with 'clean' paint jobs, but these are a lot more fun.

    1. Its a conversion for the bike I've had in mind for years, but never had the right project for it. Glad I've got round to it :)

    1. They match up pretty nicely, and importantly change the whole look of the bike!

    1. The added bonus is that I can paint him up unmodified for when his bike gets written-off!

  7. That bike looks great! I'm tempted to put together a biker gang for Port Imperiale now!

    More please!

  9. That's a great conversion. I really need to lay hands on some of those old marine bikes. You're town is really coming to life lately. (It was already fairly impressive, but you're making it into a thing of beauty.)

    1. I'm enjoying the weathering - its one of the quickest and most gratifying approaches to painting I think.
