The game will be played using Necromunda rules - my Arbites will be led by an Inquisitor and a couple of his companions, aiming to purge the genestealer infestation. For now though, I'll leave you with pictures of the Arbites, painted up over the course of two evenings.
The two eras of Jes Goodwin's Arbites actually work pretty well together. Personally I prefer the more Judge Dredd-esque earlier versions (front row) with their boots and sleeker helmets.
The Arbites were painted to match the Agents I painted a few weeks ago - I think they work pretty nicely together.
Agent Brand and Sergeant Raul quickly plan the assault on the cults' hideout |
I'll bring you a report on how the Arbites fare in a few weeks.
Wow, great force ! Very strong colour cobo here and it works wonderfully. Raul and Brand are ahead of tough times even with such companions but hey , what wouln't they do to get rid of the genestealer scum?
ReplyDeleteThanks JB. I did worry that it was too brash, but I figure Arbite gear is designed to be imposing. They're going to need to work hard to root out the cult ;)
DeleteThey are definitely not too brash, 28mm demands a certain boldness, as do law enforcers.
ReplyDeleteThe detectives plus plods dynamic is really good too.
Both eras sculpts are nice in their own way. The Fanatic era Enforcers are decent too and good matches with the second, non booted variety.
Terrifying output rate too, well done.
Turbo-boost up to maximum on the output! Actually driven out of necessity - with the game looming and possibly only one further evening available in between, it was get them done now or potentially not at all.
DeleteGlad you like them - I'm pleased with how they look against the Agents / Detectives too.
(deleted the duplicate post below BTW)

ReplyDeleteReally nice, I think the back ones look more Judge Dread-ish (esp. eagles on shoulder and knee pads), but thanks for pointing out the difference, cool to know. Look forward to the battle report!
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely a high level of Judge Dredd influence on them I think :)
DeleteIf you look carefully at the Goodwin sketches for these models (in The Gothic and the Eldritch IIRC) you can see a "Too Dredd" comment or similar near certain features on the Arbites design.
DeleteThere is definitely more than a bit of Old Stoney Face in the design :) And who could blame them?

DeleteHaha - is that right Paul? I'll have a refresh of my memory tonight (another duplicate comment deleted too!)
DeleteHa! "Too Dredd." As if such a thing existed.
DeleteThese look great. I have a squad of these painted up somewhere. I might have to dig them out and touch 'em up for a game in the near future...
ReplyDeleteWell worth doing - they're great figures and pretty nice to paint.
DeleteNice colour combination, it works better than I expected. I really like these!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) I think the white helmets were key to the colour scheme - they were actual pretty much the last parts I painted and were black for most of the time from the undercoat. It wasn't until they got their white paint that suddenly they looked the business!
