More Crates

Last night I wanted to paint something quick, easy and requiring minimal brain work. So I pulled out a pair of resin crates from my unpainted terrain pile and set to work.

The crates are from Daemonscape and are solid resin. I'm not entirely sure why I only have 2 from the set. Perhaps the third is around in a box somewhere!

Painting was very simple - white and orange over a grey primer. I then painted the logos / stripes, before weathering to death with washes and blister foam stippling.

After about 90 minutes, I called them done. It would have been even quicker without the Orange Star Line logos to tie them into my interstellar trading corporation.

Resin crates with the scratchbuilt plasticard one from a few weeks back.

I think I'll get more crates prepped for short painting sessions - I like the fact that it's productive output with minimal effort required.

  1. I like the experience of easy paint jobs. It's like the painting equivalent of comfort food. This looks very good plus some.

  3. These look excellent! Were any paint chipping mediums used or are they painted on chips. It's that good that I can't really tell for sure. :)
