Droning On and On and On and....

I'll be running a game for a few friends in a few weeks. As part of the set-up, I needed some drones (the purpose is secret for now, for fear of giving anything away).

I came across the very nice Dweorg Scout Drones by Gydran Miniatures and ordered three sets. I spent no more than 2 hours painting them up in the same colour scheme as my Engineering crew and the job was done!

A single squadron of three drones.

All nine drones.

The drones are nice little simple models - very quick and easy to paint.

Plus a Squat Engineer and his tracked robot / bombot.

I suspect the drones will see plenty of use as data nodes, objective points, scouting devices and more. Moreover, I was pleased to get back to painting after a couple of weeks break!

Sub-Engineer Grungi programmed his drone scanners to survey the vast hangar complex. This tedious task necessitated three full squadrons of drones, and was not going to be over quickly. *Sigh*.

  1. Just the right kind of models to get back into the swing of things. They're also the kind that always proves useful to etheir provide gaming help or just to look good and add character.
    Great.

    1. Funny isn't it - sometimes you want something easy, sometimes you relish the challenge. I definitely wanted something easy ;)

  2. Very nice mate - hobby pot noodle... quick, easy, strangely satisfying :-) Nice to do for your planned game, but these will no doubt come in useful for a myriad of things! I trust there will be a report??? ;-)

  3. Nice quick little figures that should be useful for a lot of things... scanners, drones, electro shock fence etc.

    1. It reminds me that I desperately need to make some loot counters though!

  4. Those came off very nicely. As everyone else said, I suspect they'll come in very handy indeed. :) Good to take a break every now and then, and good to get back in the swing of things. It's a good feeling.

    1. Thanks! I know what you mean about having a break - mine was enforced (family holiday), but still welcome :)
