Just a Big Lug - Scavvy Ogryn

I'm certain that scavvies would try and recruit an ogryn into their gang if at all possible. Assuming they can scrounge up enough food to keep it fed that is!

Lech the outcast ogryn with his trusty chainaxe.

I wanted to include a figure that matched the scavvies stylistically, and happily Jes Goodwin sculpted one of the iconic Warhammer fantasy ogre ranges. The figure is to all intents and purposes the body of one ogre shaman with the head of another ogre shaman spliced onto it. I did also replace the left hand, add the chainaxe head, backpack (from a skaven poison wind globadier) and do a few other minor modifications, but that's about it!

I painted the ogryn with the now established scavvy colour pallette, rendering the lower half of the faceas a rebreather (to match the rebreathers on some of the scavvy sculpts).

When I'd finished painting, I felt that the front of the model lacked 'something'. I decided to add another little icon disc (the little yellow circle under his right hand). It was just enough tie the scheme together.

(Those little discs are a brilliant way to add some interest to a belt or strap - they're just small balls of greenstuff that I flatten out then sharpen up the edge with a clay shaper).

I'm really happy with the way the big lad fits with his smaller mates:
