I'm now getting to the point where a fully painted set of Bob Olley's Iron Claw space pirates is a realistic outcome in the near future (I have 6 left to paint). This set of three brings me up to 11 out of 17. Happily, there are still some fun characterful figures to come!
I stuck with the tried and tested rebel commando colour scheme for two of the new recruits, but Dambo Kweltz helmet just got me thinking of rebel pilots! I suspect he pilots one of the more boring fighters (probably a Y-Wing), so I didn't give him the cool orange jumpsuit that the X-Wing pilots get.
Captain Dunbar has a really odd hat with weird folds and bulges. He also has a gun that looks like a super-soaker. I wonder whether the hat would have been better in white?

The Commando colour scheme works really well on these sculpts, they look awesome! But how dare you insult the glorious Y Wing sir! :P

DeleteCould pilot something like a U-Wing; starfighter-ish, but with a transport capacity to haul around all his buddies.

DeleteYour rebels look fantastic! They do all have that very characterful face and you've done a great job of bringing that out. The hulking alien in back is an absolute show-stopper, though. Love it!
