The Tip Of the Leadpile

At this very moment, I should be reviewing a rather boring document about recycled aggregates. But as I'm losing the will to live, I've taken a tea break, and took a couple of minutes to take a few pictures of my model cabinet (working in the same room as all my hobby stuff is probably a bad idea!).

I just thought I'd share with you some glimpses of the models which are currently WIP or are at planning stage. I'm sure you'll recognise the odd model or two!

In terms of a couple of specifics, I have found myself rather taken with the idea of some female Astropaths to accompany the male ones done to date. This figure (based on a Dark Sword Mage) is pretty much ready for painting:

She's finer and more delicate than the Rogue Trader style, but close enough that it works for a female figure I think.

Boy meets girl?
I've also finished the conversion work on the dapper chap below - intended to be some sort of intergalactic pet trader. The Beastling familiar I painted on Monday will become part of his menagerie, but he does have a couple of little creatures about his person already.

The big question is working out which figure to pull out and paint next!

    1. Erm, ah, yes...that knight. A rainy day project I think. Annoyingly, I have no idea where his lance is!

  3. Astropaths, navigators, arbites, and more... looks like a great lead (and tin) pile to work through.

I counted my Inq28 figures, and have something in the range of 40 ready for paint or nearly so, BUT I did manage to get a few mutants painted so that is a start at chipping away at the plastic mountain.

  4. The two featured conversions are excellent btw. Did you shave the astropath, or did she come bald?

    1. It was actually neither! The original figure has a full head of hair: http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/female-mage-with-staff-689.html

I chopped off her head and replaced it with one from a Mordheim sisters of sigmar auger.

    2. Should have guessed that it was from a relatively rare oop figure!

    3. If it's any consolation, I used the head on an Eldar jet bike pilot and the body for a Farseer around 10 years ago when it was a bog standard in production model. I only prised it loose from the jetbiker last week :)

  5. Always nice to see a few teasers. Is that Mekon dude scratch built? Either way, I'm loving it.

  6. Excellent, great to see what you have to paint.
I really like the female Astropath, wonderful conversion.
The old Wizard miniature looks great as a sci fi pet trader. :)
