Lando was always my favourite character from the original Star Wars trilogy. I particularly liked his guard outfit from Jabba's palace. That said, I've gone with the Cloud City vibe for my Bob Olley version of Lando, as it also allowed me to make Lobot.
Lando is made from a Citadel Rogue Trader psyker. The figure already had the fabulous cape and requisite panache, so the only conversion work was a head swap with one of Bob's Tikonamut mercenaries from EM4. I did add the moustache though!
Lobot was a much more involved conversion, based on the farmer from the Hybrid Miniatures Sect frontier family set. The head is again from an EM4 Tikonamut mercenary. You can see some side-by-side comparisons of the conversions and the source models below:
Once again, the colour schemes were dictated by the on-screen costumes. Fun to paint nonetheless!
I'm closing in on the final stages of the project now, with a few more rebel commandos and peripheral characters to come. I'd like to make a Jabba, but am really struggling to identify a suitable Bob Olley sculpt to work with!

Simply fantastic, what a cool job again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suber 😊
DeleteI think that the "running" Patriarch, with less arms, would be a good start to that Janna.
ReplyDeleteAmazing project, by the way.
That's interesting - I'd discounted the seated patriarch (cost mainly), but hadn't considered the running patriarch. I'll have a look.
DeleteThanks!
I was going to sugqest my only thought for Jabba would be to get the head of the patriarch and just sculpt the body. Maybe some orcs for the Gomorrians? Also, Lando and Lobo look great! Well done.
DeleteThanks Kym, looking afresh at options for Jabba now. I do have an idea for Gamorrians too 😉
DeleteSuch a work once again, on Lobo. And lovely paint job
ReplyDeleteThanks 😊 I enjoyed the process of transforming Lobot!
