Nurgle Champion? He's A Perfect Scavvy

Back in 2016, my good friend Asslessman painted up one of Jes Goodwin's Nurgle champions as part of his scavvy gang. The idea has stuck with me ever since, and I've blatently copied it (with his blessing!).

40k Civilian Tipper Truck

Back in 2018 or 2019, our Necromunda group played a big multiplayer rolling road game - everyone mounted their gang in one or more vehicles. Jason used an old beat-up 40k civilian truck he'd made as scenery some time previously. The paint job was tired, it was missing a wheel, a mudguard and the entire rear section was detached, but it served the purpose in speeding his gang around the board.

After the game he gave it to me to repair and rebuild, as he knew I'd use it. Embarrassingly, the truck sat in various boxes and storage locations pretty much ever since. Until now!

In a few weeks time I'll be joining in a big multiplayer Necromunda game with vehicles at Bootleg Bring Out Your Lead. I plan to bring along my scavvy gang and needed another vehicle to mount them in, so I dug out Jason's old damaged truck and spent the last couple of evenings repairing and repainting it.

Here's the truck with its brand new paintjob, replacement wheel, repaired mudguard and re-attached rear section:

Sergeant 'Bootleg' Boyle

Many of you will be aware of Bring Out Your Lead (BOYL), the annual Oldhammer event that has been hosted by Wargames Foundry since 2013. Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances, this year's event will not be happening, leaving a gap in the calendar.

Happily, the guys behind Lead & Steel and Wardollies Collective are hosting a Bootleg BOYL taking place in Nottingham on Saturday 8 August. A totally unofficial event, but it certainly will involve old-school miniatures and old-school games! If you want more details, check out the Facebook event and pick up tickets here.

It's long been a BOYL tradition that there is a commemorative event figure, and it's been my pleasure to donate a sculpt to the Bootleg BOYL event - Sergeant 'Bootleg' Boyle:

Just a Big Lug - Scavvy Ogryn

I'm certain that scavvies would try and recruit an ogryn into their gang if at all possible. Assuming they can scrounge up enough food to keep it fed that is!

Lech the outcast ogryn with his trusty chainaxe.
