After doing Boba Fett, the next obvious step was do to more of his peers. Doing all six of the bounty hunters from Empire Strikes Back isn't currently on the cards, but I had some decent ideas for a couple more of the motley crew.

All three of the new additions are again based on Bob Olley sculpts. 'Bossk' is an unmodified figure from Killer B Games' Galactic Adventures in the Fourth Dimension of the Forbidden Zone range. These are 32mm scale, with a selection sculpted by Bob Olley, including these alien hydrus warriors (which actually come in at nearly 50mm tall). In spite of the height, the outfit and general vibe is pretty close to Bossk, so I figured he's just had a growth spurt or is an older sibling!
Dengar and IG-88 required a little more work. IG-88 is a Kryomek talos robot. I removed the original head and replaced it with a cut-down Kryomek gun (both the talos and gun sprue are available from Scotia Grendel). I added a few extra lenses to the head just to reinforce the IG vibe.
Dengar is another Kryomek Nexus SWAT trooper. The original model has a useful bare head and bandana, so I just sculpted more of the head scarf plus some gloves. The holstered pistol is from the same Kroymek weapons sprue as the IG head, and the backpack is from my bits box.
I'm happier with Dengar - just painting elements of the SWAT armour cream gives the impression of his undersuit, even though they are hard armour plates rather than the soft baggy material that the character is actually wearing.
I do need to work on some rebel characters next - they are very much outnumbered by the Imperials at the moment!

Fantastic, congrats to you for sourcing all those models, sometimes in catalogues with no pictures !
ReplyDeleteThanks JB! Seeking out the models is a big part of the fun, even moreso when it all works out 🙂
