After painting up two of the four Marauder scavvies last time out, it made sense to paint up the remaining pair (as a side note, this means I have now painted all 20 Confrontation miniatures produced by Marauder - showcase to come in the near future!).
Like the previous pair of Marauder scavvies, these are gloriously chunky Aly Morrison sculpts that you very rarely see painted up. I never knew that the goofy guy with the laspistol had a bionic leg for example. They are covered in fun details that reveal themselves as you paint them. My favourite elements are the flying wings on the shoulders of the chainsword-wielder's jacket. Clearly he's been raiding a military surplus store!
All in all, I'm very please with how the four figures turned out. So much so, that I've converted a few other Aly & Trish figures so I can use a full 'Marauder' style scavvy gang. More on those in a future post! For now, you'll just have to make do with these four:
Wow! Those are beautiful! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mouse 😊
DeleteNice work - I had no idea these models even existed! I do like the colour scheme - it's definitely right for their low status, but it doesn't look drab. Really nice work.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Marauder Confrontation figs are pretty uncommon. They are brilliant though. Glad you like the colour scheme - I wanted to keep some bright colours along with the drab to stop them feeling too fantasy.
DeleteI don't think I have ever seen these before...brilliant and characterful models for sure and an absolute joy to behold (and covet).
ReplyDeleteIt's such a shame they didn't get a bigger release window, they really are fantastic sculpts. Thanks!
DeleteThese are really horrible in an excellent way.

Thanks very much Alan!
DeleteGreat work on those. I really like the pose on laspistol chap: he looks properly world-weary and disreputable.
ReplyDeleteBill.
Yeah he's a miserable sod isn't he?!
DeleteThey look like quite the low lifes -- great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike 🙂
