Fisk's Christmas Present

Christmas now seems an age away, but myself and a few mates decided to run a little Secret Santa and secretly send each other something fun to paint. We dutifully promised to paint up whatever we were sent by the end of January. I'm late, and I've only painted 50% of what I was sent - I'm barely coping with the excessive guilt!

Nonetheless, 50% of my Secret Santa gift has been painted - although it wasn't so much a gift for me, as it was for Silwon Fisk. I even received instructions to the fact:

Just what was this violent gimp? Why, er, it was a violent gimp - a scarified, pierced, semi-naked, mask-wearing lunatic! The model in question is a chaos warrior which I suspect might have been a troublesome mould-ripper, what with all his spikes. He clearly doesn't see the need for armour, instead going in for a few spiked adornments and a loincloth. Oh, and an all-encompassing helmet. Given Fisk's predilection for surrounding himself with lots of flesh, he's a perfect new pet bodyguard.

'Pet' has been painted in the same colour palette as Fisk and his 'companions' to date - flesh, white and blue. Given all the scarification on his body, I decided not to repeat the tattoos common to the others.

Fisk and the boys out for a nice afternoon walk.

In addition to all the spikes, 'Pet' also has a whole load of little bells on chains. So his owner always knows where he is, I presume.

I very much enjoyed painting a figure I suspect I wouldn't have thought about using beforehand - thank you very much Secret Santa. I promise I'll get round to the other figure as soon as I can!

  1. I love how one can tell the helmet isn't there to protect the one wearing it but the others around who mighht see his face.
Looking forward to seeing your thunderdome.

    1. A terrible thought - who knows what horror might lie beneath the helmet

  2. The bodyguard with the chainsword looks positively horrified to have been relegated to the back of the procession while the new boy gets paraded front and centre!

    1. It's never nice to come back after an afternoon off and find you've been replaced!

  3. This is turning into a great little warband. I love how they are building their own fluff.

    1. Some figures become 'real' characters, don't they?! Fisk was a notorious braggart and coward in the last campaign he took part - heroically running away at many an opportunity!

  4. Wow, I didn't know this mini -and would have never related it to this project. But now that I see it, it's just perfect, the only choice!

    1. He's an oddity and I'm not sure I would have thought of him myself. But he does fit in brilliantly!

  7. There's always something extra intimidating about unarmoured people with all-enclosing helmets. It's a very 40K vibe.

    Good work on that thong.

    1. As you expect, I lavished attention on the thong!

Naked helmet wearers are really 40k, I agree. Especially featureless naked helmet wearers.

  8. That thong-cum-loincloth must have +19 defense attributes as enemies are blinded upon placing their sights on them ;) Excellent paint job though mate! :)

    1. 100% correct. Sometimes the best armour isn't even armour at all!
