The Wolf of House Ulanti

Every noble house needs a master of the hunt. A grizzled and deadly huntsman who can assist his Lord in the finer arts of stalking prey, selecting a suitable trophy beast, making the killing shot.

Lope is Huntsman to Lord Greiss of House Ulanti. He is lethal - a deadeye shot, as well as a patient and loyal servant. It is rumoured that he was once an off-world bounty hunter of some renown. His scarred and patched body reinforces that rumour, but none know for certain.

Lope is one one of the Confrontation Bounty Hunter models with the simple addition of a pair of arms from the new plastic Skitarii kit. The pose shamelessly echoes Evo's (Port Imperiale) big game hunter using the same model (with Victoria Miniatures arms):

Evo's interpretation of the same model.
I think the shouldered rifle really works on this figure, and it was fun to replicate Evo's figure with a paint job more fitting for a House Ulanti retainer.

I've retained the bright blue/white/yellow combination, but gave Lope more battered armour to reflect his more 'hands dirty' role. He's no fawning courtier, but a man of deliberate action! Even though I probably shouldn't have painted his hair bleached blonde (it's too close to the yellow shirt), I couldn't resist. I think it gives him a sort of Javier Bardem Bond villan look!

Here's House Ulanti to date. I think I need to paint up some standard retainers and guards to keep an eye on all the more important persons.

    1. Thanks JB. I really like the way each is an individual, but the colours tie them altogether. I've probably had most fun with these than any other group to date!

  7. They have a very cool Dune/Harkonnen vibe- appropriate as so much of classic 40k was taken from that milieu
